A client portal dashboard

This walkthrough builds a single, live page that captures everything about one client — their details, recent activity, and open items — and makes it easy to share. It brings together collections, notes, tasks, dashboards, and sharing.

Everything below is something you say to your AI assistant.

1. Make sure the pieces exist

The page pulls from data you already keep. If you've followed Build a book of business, you're set. If not, get the basics in place first:

Make sure Acme Corp has a record in our book of business, an account-history note, and any open tasks attached to it.

2. Assemble the overview

Build an account overview for Acme Corp on one page: their key details from the book of business, a short summary of their recent history, and a list of open tasks with due dates.

Because it reads from your live data, the page stays current — you're not maintaining a separate copy.

3. Make it presentable

Clean it up into a single client-facing summary I could walk a client through: status at the top, recent activity, and what's coming next. Keep it simple and on-brand.

4. Share it with the right people

Share this overview with our account team as view-only, and give me a link I can send to my manager.

See Sharing & permissions for how access works — nothing is visible until you share it.

5. Reuse it for every client

Turn it into a repeatable process so any account gets the same treatment:

Create a "Client overview" process that builds this same one-page summary for any account, and run it for Beta LLC.

What you ended up with

  • A live, single-page overview of a client, drawn from real data.
  • A shareable link with the access you chose.
  • A repeatable process to produce the same page for any account.
